1. Overview
Welcome to Bump Buddy — an educational wellbeing app designed to support dads and partners through pregnancy and early parenthood. We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your data when you use our app.
By using Bump Buddy, you agree to the terms outlined below.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only the information necessary to operate and improve the app. Depending on your use, this may include:
a. Information Collected During Sign-Up
We collect user-provided data including name, partner name, baby name or alias, baby sex, due date, email address, and email marketing consent. The email and marketing consent are used for optional marketing communications if consent is given. This information is securely stored in Firebase to personalise your experience and manage communications.
b. Automatically Collected Data
Through third-party tools like Firebase Analytics or App Store / Play Store services, we may collect: Device information (model, operating system, language, region), app usage data (features used, screens visited, session duration), crash reports and performance data, and anonymous identifiers (for analytics and error tracking). This helps us understand how people use the app and improve your experience. No personal or health-sensitive data is collected without consent.
c. Voluntary Data
If you contact us via email or submit feedback, we may store: your name (if provided), your email address, and the content of your message. This information is used solely to respond to your enquiry.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the data we collect to improve app performance and user experience, fix bugs or technical issues, understand how the app is used, and communicate with you if you contact us for support. Specifically, the information collected during sign-up is used to personalise app content such as pregnancy tracking and tailored guidance, and to manage your communication preferences. If you opt into marketing communications, Bump Buddy may send you occasional emails about app updates, new features, and relevant parenting or wellbeing content. You can opt out of these marketing emails at any time by following the unsubscribe links included in the emails or by contacting our support team. We do not use your data for marketing or sell it to third parties beyond these communications.
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to provide app functionality, comply with legal obligations, or maintain essential records such as purchase receipts.
4. Third-Party Services
Our app may use trusted third-party tools and services, including Firebase (by Google LLC) for analytics and crash reporting, and Apple App Store for distribution and payments. These services may collect anonymised usage data as part of their operation.
If you access third-party websites through the app, those sites may use cookies or tracking technologies governed by their own privacy policies. We do not control or manage these cookies.
5. Data Storage and Security
Data is stored securely on servers operated by Google Firebase and/or Apple/Google platforms. We implement appropriate technical measures to protect your data from unauthorised access or misuse. No health or biometric data is stored by us directly.
6. Your Rights (UK & EU Users)
If you are located in the UK or EU, you have rights under GDPR, including the right to access, correct, or delete your data, and the right to object to processing or withdraw consent. You can exercise these rights by contacting us at info@bumpbuddyapp.com.
7. Children’s Privacy
Our app is designed for adults (expectant and new parents) and is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
8. International Use
If you use the app from outside the United Kingdom, your information may be transferred to and processed in other countries. We ensure such transfers comply with relevant data protection laws.
9. Notifications
The app may request permission to send push notifications to keep you informed about pregnancy milestones, updates, or reminders. These notifications are optional, and you can manage or disable them in your device settings at any time.
